Frequently Asked Questions
When will I be contacted?
Answer: A coach will contact you sometime during the week after the last regular registration date. They will give you instructions on when the first practice/tryout may be, collect accurate spelling and number for jerseys, and let you know in detail what equipment (socks and pant color) is needed.
What days are practices/games on?
Answer: Mandatory practice days are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday. Any other day is optional. Games can be scheduled on Monday's, Tuesday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's, and/or Saturday's.
When do practices/games start?
Answer: Practices will start after the last regular registration date. The Jamboree signifies the beginning of the regular season and will be a Saturday in September. Parents will have an opportunity to purchase pictures of their child at the Jamboree. Games will be scheduled on a weekly basis after the Jamboree and continue through November.
Does RRYFL charge a gate fee to watch games?
Answer: The RRYFL does not charge a gate fee for any of the regular season games. Only the Jamboree, Playoff, and Super Bowl games will have a gate fee.
How many games will the team play?
Answer: Your child will play a 8-12 game season with a playoff game and a Super Bowl if the team qualifies. Playoff format be four team playoff. The 1st place team and 4th place team, the 2nd and 3rd place teams will play a playoff game with the winners going to the super bowl unless a different format is needed.
What do I need to buy?
Answer:
Flag Players will need: Cleats, Game Pants and Socks (Coach will let you know what color), and Mouthpiece
Tackle Players will need: Cleats, Game Pants and Socks (Coach will let you know what color), Mouthpiece, Helmet, Chinstrap, Shoulder Pads, Practice Jersey
Customized Game Jersey will be provided for both flag and tackle divisions from the League Account.
